Summa Physicians, Inc. Selects eClinicalWorks EMR Solution
Success of Summa Health System Community Roll-out Leads to Multi-specialty Group Selection for Approximately 223 Providers
Westborough, Mass.—January 18, 2010—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that Summa Physicians, Inc., (SPI) has chosen eClinicalWorks electronic medical records (EMR) solution for its 223 physicians serving 33 specialties. This deal is a direct result of the relationship eClinicalWorks has held with Summa Health System since 2006.
“Implementing eClinicalWorks meets a significant piece of our strategic plan of improved communication to better manage large groups of patients,” said Dr. Cliff Deveny, president of Summa Physicians, Inc. “We selected eClinicalWorks because of Summa Health System’s previous relationship with the system; we knew we were obtaining an EMR system with solid functionality that will lead to better documentation and care management.”
eClinicalWorks EMR will allow for SPI to streamline processes throughout the practice and promote patient safety while reducing costs. In addition, the technology will place SPI in a good position to take advantage of ARRA reimbursements. Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), providers will be reimbursed for demonstrating ‘meaningful use’ of an EMR system.
“Summa Physicians, Inc., selecting eClinicalWorks is a direct correlation to our relationship with Summa Health Network and a validation of the value we provide our customers,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “We look forward to working with Summa Physicians, Inc., to ensure its providers receive top quality service in order to improve overall functionality.”
