Puerto Rico’s Migrant Health Center Selects eClinicalWorks
Federally Qualified Health Center Chooses eClinicalWorks Comprehensive EHR Solution for its Eight Locations
WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—March 18, 2015—eClinicalWorks®, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announces that Puerto Rico’s Migrant Health Center (MHC), a non-profit, 330 federally qualified health center (FQHC) and NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home-recognized in all eight clinic sites, incorporated since 1971, has chosen the eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution for its eight locations. Use of this technology will aid continuity of care efforts across multiple settings, allowing critical information to be accessible at the point of care.
“Migrant Health Center offers clinical and ancillary services, focusing on giving patients the best from every aspect of our organization,” said Dolores Morales, CEO of Migrant Health Center. “Being able to manage medical, dental and behavioral care in an integrated manner will aid our providers in delivering optimal care to our patients. We believe eClinicalWorks will provide the technology needed to take our organization to the next level.”
FQHCs offer quality care to patients under different guidelines than many private medical practices, creating a unique operating environment. eClinicalWorks currently works with nearly 700 community health centers across the country, with five of these centers being recipients of the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence Program. By deploying the eClinicalWorks EHR solution, MHC will streamline processes between locations and equip medical providers with pertinent, real-time patient information. The eClinicalWorks Patient Portal, available in the Spanish language, will provide MHC with a secure means for doctors and patients to communicate, make appointments, view lab results and enter health information online.
“eClinicalWorks has successfully implemented many federally qualified health centers, helping us understand their unique requirements,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “eClinicalWorks has enhanced the features of our products to meet the requirements of these centers, improving outcomes. Integrating the eClinicalWorks EHR solution into its organization will enable Migrant Health Center to have a more complete view of patients’ information, aiding its providers in delivering coordinated care, as well as assist management in obtaining more precise and accurate data for future decision making.”
