Kansas City’s Meritas Health Corporation Selects eClinicalWorks
WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—April 23, 2012—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, announces that Meritas Health Corporation has chosen eClinicalWorks as its electronic medical records (EMR) system. Meritas Health Corporation is a multi-specialty group in Kansas City, Mo., with 72 employed physicians. Designed to improve quality of care, the technology will also provide specialty-specific features as well as interface between eClinicalWorks and the multi-specialty group’s existing Cerner in-patient, LabCorp, and Quest systems, further automating workflow.
“Meritas has built a multi-specialty practice that provides high quality care for our patients,” said Linda Coventon, network executive for Meritas Health Corporation. “eClinicalWorks will help us to provide optimal care, is intuitive to use and has the ability to improve overall workflow. We chose an electronic medical record system that will provide the tools for us to take advantage of Meaningful Use initiatives and allow us to work to become a Patient-Centered Medical Home™.”
eClinicalWorks includes features and templates customized for more than 50 specialties and sub-specialties, allowing multi-specialty groups, like Meritas, to standardize on the system. The EMR also helps providers take advantage of provisions in the HITECH Act, which authorizes the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to impart a reimbursement incentive for physician and hospital providers who demonstrate the “meaningful use” of an EMR. In addition, eClinicalWorks will also interface with Meritas’ practice management system by GE Centricity as well as modalities for the group’s cardio devices. This creates a more efficient practice, reduces human errors and improves patient care.
“eClinicalWorks has a tremendous track record in successful deployment with multi-specialty practices,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “The comprehensive nature of the system along with our integration experience makes eClinicalWorks an ideal fit for multi-specialty practices. We look forward to working with Meritas Health Corporation to improve patient care and assist in reaching its goals of becoming meaningful users and gain PCMH status.”
