Memorial Hermann Live with 600 Providers on eClinicalWorks; Expanding Relationship
Health System Live with Electronic Health Records for Nearly 600 Providers and Adding 200 Licenses
WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—September 9, 2013—eClinicalWorks®, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announced that Memorial Hermann Health System, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in southeast Texas, has nearly 600 providers live on the eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution and has purchased 200 additional licenses for streamlining practice operations, facilitating collaborative disease management initiatives, and accelerating adoption of evidence-based clinical practices.
“Memorial Hermann makes efforts to foster better, more efficient care in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings,” said David Bradshaw, CIO of Memorial Hermann. “Our physicians have had great success in surpassing their pre-EHR patient loads quickly after implementing eClinicalWorks partly due to the intuitive nature of the product and its inherent connectivity. The advanced reporting capabilities eClinicalWorks offers are critical to our wide network of healthcare providers in achieving Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition so that our physicians can focus on practicing medicine.”
Memorial Hermann ranks as one of the nation’s Top 5 large health systems by Truven Health for patient safety and quality. eClinicalWorks helps the organization streamline clinical processes, which will now be extended through the use of eClinicalTouch, a fully-functional native iPad® application. Providers can utilize these tablets, which are lighter weight and more cost-effective than many traditional computer options. Reporting capabilities within eClinicalWorks will also aid providers of various specialties to easily report based on meaningful use criterion for their practice.
“In a cluttered market of EHRs, our independent physician members of MHMD-Memorial Hermann Physician Network have recognized the value of eClinicalWorks to achieve high-quality patient-centered care and lay the foundation for care coordination in one of the country’s most advanced Clinical Integration networks and Accountable Care Organizations. The more physician offices we have on eClinicalWorks, the easier it is for us to meet our quality, efficiency, and satisfaction goals for our patients and contracts,” said Shawn Griffin, Chief Quality and Informatics Officer for MHMD.
“Memorial Hermann has a long history of taking innovative measures to improve clinical outcomes,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “During our partnership, its physicians have successfully made the move to electronic health records and the improved clinical integration has led to easier collaboration with peers regarding patient care. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Memorial Hermann.”
