The Thundering Sounds of Innovation

eClinicalWorks

Today’s weather outside the Orlando World Center Marriott was classic Florida — bright sunshine, gently swaying palm trees, and a comfortable 85 degrees. But inside the convention center there was plenty of thunder!

A first round came from eClinicalWorks employees giving an enthusiastic reception to the thousands of our clients arriving for the 2016 National Conference Keynote. And a second round from those clients applauding CEO Girish Navani, Sameer “Sam” Bhat, and Dr. Raj Dharampuriya as they unveiled our company’s latest products, improvements, and initiatives.

And eCW’s leadership unveiled something more today — something less tangible but every bit as real and important as this morning’s announcement that 10e is now available to all client practices. That something was a vision of the near future of health care.

The final slide message of the Keynote said it all: “Everything evolves via the catalyst of innovation to meet new needs.”

Today, we saw and heard exactly how innovation meets needs. We saw it when eCW demonstrated our facial recognition log-in process, and voice-activated retrieval of patients records. We heard it from urban and suburban providers who cheered the arrival of apps that will not only summarize a provider’s daily house calls, but show the optimal route to reach them, and send that information to a smartphone.

Everyone had a story to tell. Health center providers from South Dakota who work with patients scattered among communities on the Great Plains. Doctors working in impoverished inner-city communities looking for ways to better engage their patients. The traditional New Hampshire doctor striving to sustain and grow a primary-care practice in an age of ever-greater regulation. Financial and analytics experts looking for ways to make sense of Big Data.

What they all share is an investment in our company, and enthusiasm for both the business and fun of the 2016 National Conference, from the marvelous utility of 10e, to a hard-fought selfie contest, to our charity event, to the apple-liciousness of an afternoon smorgasbord that kept everyone going strong.

Going strong, in fact, right into tonight, as our clients reward themselves for a day’s worth of sessions and networking by heading for some of Orlando’s many attractions — including Epcot, Universal CityWalk, and Disney Springs — or maybe just kicking back poolside with new friends and old.

#eCW16 is going strong into the night!
