Conference, Texas-style
Saturday was busy for all with many helpful sessions. Popular ones included those about RCM, V10, healow, Meaningful Use in 2014 and how to utilize technology to meet the needs of a changing healthcare system. Customers also had the opportunity to stop by the support and training rooms, where they picked up new tips and tricks for optimizing their workflow experience. eCWCentral was packed all day, with attendees enjoying the interactive stations, test-driving our featured products.

Letter to Our Customers
This is an exciting time to write to you as eClinicalWorks is extremely active with no signs of slowing down. We are on the verge of releasing eClinicalWorks V10, which we strongly believe is our most powerful, yet easy-to-use version to date. What the Doctor Ordered: Apps
Patient engagement aims to enhance communication channels between patients and healthcare providers, improving health outcomes and aid care coordination efforts, including Patient-centered Medical Homes (PCHM), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Meaningful Use. In fact, ONC has released the final Stage 2 criteria for Meaningful Use, which includes requirements for providers to offer online access to health information and secure messaging for 5% of patients, encouraging physicians to implement patient engagement tools.

Driving Via a Rear-view Mirror
As various options for healthcare reform are considered, the patient-centered care model and shared savings programs have come about as alternative approaches to care delivery, performance measurement and value-based payment reform, shifting the focus to preventative care. The pay-per-service model is viewed by some as being similar to driving through the rear-view mirror. What is behind you provides insight, but it is what is in front that is really telling.

Day 3: Get Pink’d Out
October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, everyone today wore pink in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Sessions, including the EMR Tips & Tricks and Patient Portal, were completely packed. Several lucky raffle winners are going home with iPads and the cash blowing machine in the Exhibit Hall drew quite a crowd.

Day 2: Keynote and Sessions
The first official day of the National Users Conference has come to a close. The day began with a fabulous Keynote, General Program and Product Showcase. Keynote speakers this year included Regina M. Benjamin, MD, MBA, Surgeon General of the United States, and Farzad Mostashari, MD, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Following this was the opening of the exhibit hall as well as the training and support center. Attendees also experienced various hands-on training courses, eClinicalWorks Theaters, and Breakout Sessions.
