Community Health Centers Nationwide Implement Award-winning Electronic Health Records System for Streamlined Practice Operations and to Promote Patient Care
WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—Aug. 21, 2009—eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that the company has secured contracts with 37 Community Health Centers (CHCs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the country in the past few months. The majority of these centers have been implemented quickly after contract signing.
eClinicalWorks' unified electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) system allows CHCs and FQHCs to streamline processes and promote patient care. Its product has been enhanced according to the stringent reporting and billing requirements that apply to these organizations, ensuring there is no interruption in the funding that supports their work. A select group of these centers that have signed with and have implemented eClinicalWorks during the past year include Indiana’s HealthNet, Illinois’s Crusader Community Health, Montana’s RiverStone Health and New Jersey’s Horizon Health Center. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Recovery Act Capital Improvement Program (CIP) will provide about $851 million in grants to upgrade and expand CHCs. It is anticipated that more than 650 centers will use the funds to purchase new equipment or health information technology systems, and nearly 400 health centers will adopt and expand the use of electronic health records.
